A few things:
1) Both Providence and NC State figure to get better. Providence didn't run All-Americans Catarina Rocha or Sam Jones. NC State didn't run Ryen Frazier (who won this race a year ago) or her sister Wesley (9:01 3k). Providence deserves to stay #1 in the country on this evidence though.
2) New Mexico has been hit hard by a combination of graduation, injuries and Liberty refusing to release transfer Ednah Kurgat (12th at NCAAs in '15). The squad they ran today is their best group from what I can tell as Rhona Auckland (13th last year at NCAAs) and Elizabeth Weiler (38th in '14) are out for the season. Expect them to tumble down from #3 in the coaches' poll.
3) Anna Rohrer looks to be even better than last year. She beat some good women here, including Wright, who was NCAA runner-up in the 10,000 (and finished 5th to Rohrer's 6th at NCAAs last fall). Rohrer, a true sophomore, was a two-time Foot Locker champ in high school and is a big talent.
Great run for unranked Eastern Michigan as well, who beat New Mexico and came close to #5 NC State.
Full results for the meet are here (will have live splits during men's race):

# Prov' Rocha is training. But not sure Jones is?
#Interesting factoid about the Fraziers.
#I knew Liberty wasn't happy about Kurgat, but no release is pretty extreme.

When I talked to Ray Treacy earlier this month, he said Jones was coming off a knee/IT band issue and probably wouldn't race until Wisconsin.
I agree this is terrible form on Liberty's part and it reflects badly on them.

Fun fact, UTEP only has seven guys on its roster, all Kenyans.
