Alright, so basically I sustained a contusion in the soft tissue on the medial side of the foot (more specifically the abductor hallucis) and also strained some tendons from a dirty tackle in soccer, and they have me in a boot for a week before slowly working back into full volume. I am supposed to be fully back and healed in about 4-5 weeks, but that happens to be a week before when the championship meet for my team is scheduled. If I'm off 1-2 weeks of 15-20mpw of distance and then a 30-40mpw week, how much will this affect my speed?
As a now high school sophomore, my times this season have been mid 18:30's, but last track season I was low 4:40's for the mile and 2:05 for the 800. I missed a good amount of my summer base and early season for various reasons including injury.
