I'm in my mid-40s and perfectly proficient with modern technology, current events, etc.
But culturally, I clearly peaked around 1993 or so, when I graduated from college.
I have no knowledge about music after about 1999 or so, and I rarely watch new movies. I haven't been to a theater in years. I don't really watch network TV anymore, much, but I'd watch re-runs of Seinfeld any day.
I listen to Guns-n-Roses and other early-1990s music, and even older stuff (mostly 1970s-80s rock). To me this sounds as good as the day it was released...
I drive an older car and have no interest in a new car. Things like gps seem like a pointless waste to me. I have a street atlas. I don't own a smartphone and don't want one.
When I see pictures from the 1970s-1980s, I increasingly yearn for what I consider a simpler time, although modern technology has certainly made life easier.
I tend to wonder if this is a natural way to age or not,
