Thinking of restructuring my weekly schedule to bring in more easy running. I started to look over my schedule and realized I've making little progress but wasnt sure why. I'm running 35 to 40 miles a week consistently. I was doing a tempo run of about 3 to 5 miles once a week, a speed workout of up to 3 miles total. The rest were easy/recovery runs and my weekly long run of 12 miles. I wasn't progressing much anymore and started to feel some over use injuries but wasn't sure why i was getting them. I looked over my log and began to see what was wrong. Gradually over the last 3 to 4 months my easy and recovery paces have increased by nearly 40 seconds. So i was likely doing all my easy and recovery runs too fast and never really felt it. I was running in the moderate intensity all summer. So i ask if anyone has any success in the 80/20 training or if it didnt work out? Im also thinking of increasing miles after my race (15k) next month.
