I buy the small bottles of turmeric available in the spice section of grocery stores. I add several sprinkles to black beans. For dinner, I usually include a spinach salad with a baked potato. I cut the potato with a knife and fork and sprinkle it with turmeric. It tastes good and turmeric is said to promote longevity. T. Colin Campbell has already written "The China Study." When will someone write "The India Study" to see what effects diets rich in spices have?
in yellow curry
suppository is best
don't take tumeric, take curcumin (the tumeric extract) and get the 500mg capsules sold at costco
I use the curcumin pills. I love curry, but IMO it's impossible to get an effective dose from food.
Note that I only use them sparingly. I am convinced that they reduce pain and inflammation but I'm also fairly convinced that that's not always a good thing.
I buy bulk organic turmeric and sprinkle it on most everything eggs, meats, veggies... NOT coffee (don't ask). Careful not to get it on the tablecloth; it stains.
Fresh, specialty turmeric is mild n tasty, IMO.
you don't take tumerica, you become tumerica.
I usually get it when it's in season and fresh. It's a root that looks a lot like ginger except orange. I chop it up and make tea or put it in a smoothie. I can't say I've noticed any difference with it to be honest, but I get a lot for free.
