When I go to a grocery store lately I try to mix things up in my diet and I want to save time shopping so my roommates and I have started to swipe a grocery cart already loaded and just buy that stuff. Pretty easy cause no one expects it. Basically just follow someone eating healthy and throw some protein powder, pasta, and beer on top of whatever they have and go to checkout.
So far this works really well as between the 3 of us somebody likes or will eat whatever we get and we split costs.
Yesterday one roommates' date questioned it and said we are stealing and uncool. Now that roommate thinks we could get in trouble. Other roommate says until someone pays for the groceries that thy are fair game and we are legally good - although maybe uncool. We do not bother elderly, anyone with diapers in cart, etc. just hit the single fit people. Usually look like they are in the top 5% trumpers anyway.
Anyway it is an issue now and we refuse to be dictated to by one guys date and pursuit of action. We all read letsrun so we agreed to cease and desist if the majority of the board says to. We have enough food to get to Saturday so need a reasonable up / down on this by then.
