100% serious post. I need help/suggestions on what to eat/drink/supplement to help my stomach kick and bounce back from a virus ASAP. I have a Marathon this Saturday (5 days from now) that I am trained to smash my PR on if I can run it.
One of my kids picked up a horrendous stomach virus from daycare on Monday of last week and if has now worked its way through all 4 of us. It was the worst for me, with Thurs and Friday of last week being a complete blur since I was just sleeping and pooping. I couldn't eat much from Thurs-Sat. Felt better Sat and Sun (yesterday) and was able to eat more normally yesterday but then around evening time, my stomach started emptying like crazy all over again. I don't have the other flu like symptoms of being tired, but for the last 12 hours my stomach is back to just emptying horrendously every few hours.
I haven't had a decent run since Wed. Tried to go out sat and sun and both days I had to stop to go after a couple of miles and had zero energy. Debating whether I should even try today because I know I won't make it more than a couple of miles at best.
What foods/drinks/supplements do you recommend that I focus on over the next few days to help kick the rest of this ailment? I'll try about anything. I've been training my ass off for this marathon and am poised to smash my previous PR but at this point I don't know if I'll even get a chance to toe the line.
