I see some slow times from decent runners. How slow is the course?

I watched the race that the Cal gal got second and they were running up and down hills the whole way. Looked pretty hard.
Would you say harder than OSU?

Not familiar with the OSU course but it seemed like hard course. But the announcers said the winning time was slower than usual.
A lot of rain this week made the course really soft/wet.
The course is not only hilly but all the hills were 3 inches of mud which made them impossible to try and drive up
Ik someone there who was 2 minutes slower than a race last week, course wasn't ideal of course but it's definitely on the slower side; I think Allie ran a minute faster at like Wisconsin than she did here last year maybe even more possibly for a comparison.
How fast is a 25:30 on this course?
Low 24s I'd say probably near 24:10, it just depends on the person, but you can definitely take over a minute off the times normally and then the course not being very suitable this time.

If my calculations are correct. Add the zero, carry the 1. A 25:30 would still equal 25:30
Here is what Wisconsin did last time they ran the course, notice that the guy who came in 9th overall and 8th for Wisconsin did not even get to be All-Big Ten even though only one runner from the rest of the Conference finished ahead of him.
1 Simon Bairu Sr. 1st (1st) 23:31.7
2 Chris Solinsky Jr. 2nd (2nd) 23:56.4
3 Matt Withrow Fr. 3rd (3rd) 24:06:00
4 Stuart Eagon Fr. 4th (4th) 24:07.1
5 Antony Ford Sr. 6th (5th) 24:24.6
6 Christian Wagner Fr. 7th (6th) 24:12:00
7 Tim Nelson Jr. 8th (7th) 24:27:00
8 Ben Gregory Sr. 9th (8th) 24:34.0
Sorry but what is your point?
Crazy how good Wisconsin was.
Crazy how good Wisconsin was.
The course this year was an absolute mudfest.
100-125 meters long apparently
The weather was pretty fair throughout the week, rain overnight and early in the mornings. The Les Bolstad course in Saint Paul is fairly challenging when dry. It was wet.
I'll jump on this. How impressive is 25:30 on this course?
The whole upper Midwest has been saturated with rain the last 4 months. The ground is like running on a sponge or a waterbed and add in the mud, it's XC not a track race! I watched a Milesplit interview and got a chuckle when the Milesplit national interviewer asked why the Illinois HS kids are running so slow this year are they holding back for NXN and FL? This is the deepest class in over 40 years. The conditions have sucked and courses are sloppy and slow! It's real XC!

That's probably worth a 24:20-24:40 on a grass track.
