Hi! I'm currently a junior who wants to run a 9:40 3200 this Spring. I ran 5-10 miles a week as a freshman and 10-15 miles a week as a sophomore, resulting in a 4:55 freshman mile. Unfortunately, I had terrible training sophomore year so I maintained at 4:55-5:00. I tend to be a strength runner ran than a speedy guy (also ran 10:35 as a freshman - not as fast as 4:55 but I have zero leg speed and feel like I'm undertrained for the 3200m).
What are some good training tips and workouts (maybe even a plan) to go about running 9:40 this Spring? I am also looking for non-running tips like strength training, flexibility/hip mobility, sleep, diet, etc. I run XC, Winter Track, and Spring Track.
Thanks in advance!
