What time will it take to walk on to Cal's team for the 8? Male.
What time will it take to walk on to Cal's team for the 8? Male.
Actually could you give two times,
1) The time I would need to be a part of the team (but not necessarily be fast enough for the coach to put me in races)
2) The time I would need to be put in races.
Thanks!
I only ask not because I am lazy but because I have been trying to find this information myself online but it doesn't seem to be explicitly posted anywhere
Never mind I found it, their walk-on standard is a 1:53 for anybody else wondering with a "key target mark" of 1:49
You're the man!
Look at what times will score at their conference meet, it's probably that.
With that said, there isn't a ton an 800 specialist can do for a program unless they can step down and help out with relays, step up to the 1500, or are exceptional at xc. I don't know a ton about Cal's 800 situation, but if they already have a couple 800 specialists then you might just need to flat out be better than them (or have the equivalent upside).
Those are pretty tough standards to measure up to .
I think I'll STICK to my community college team .
