Hello,
I am planning on running the Chicago Marathon in 3 weeks and have a pacing question. I am using the Hanson Marathon Method Advanced Plan for my training. My goal is to qualify for Boston, but since this summer was extremely hot and humid I had to skip a lot of the tempo and strength workouts the plan calls for. I just did my long run of 16 miles this weekend at 7:09/mi pace on a much hillier route than Chicago. Overall, I felt pretty good, but I am not sure there was much left in the tank. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on pacing for the race. Is a Boston time possible?
I've been averaging 55-60 miles per week for the last few weeks. Would hitting the strength and tempo workouts these last two weeks be enough to try to get under the 3:05 mark or should I keep training and try again next year. I'd like to think I am close, but without hitting the workout runs I don't think I am there yet.
Thanks!
