I thought Brannigan won the 1500 but now I'm reading they ran another 1500 with a whole new set of medals.
Please explain.

The vegan 1500 was very moving. Those spunky little guys overcoming the lot dealt them in life!

At the Paralympics there are various classifications people compete under. The idea is to have people with the same type of disability compete against one another. So you have blind athletes, athletes with physical impairments, and athletes with visual impairments in separate classes and then the athletes further separated by how by their visual or physical impairment is.
Brannigan was in T20 which is for people with mental disabilities.
I still have yet to find a page that lists all the classes succinctly, but Ben Bloom of the Telegraph did a good job of explaining the classes at the end of his article.
"There are 10 broad categories of impairment than each Paralympic athlete is put into – eight of them are a form of physical impairment, one for visual impairment and one for intellectual impairment.
Within these categories, there are then several sub-categories to increase the level of “fairnessâ€. For example, there are eight sub-categories in athletics for competitors with cerebral palsy, ranging from the most to the least severe.

Then it seems reasonable to have a race for women with testicles at the actual Olympics, no?
This is pretty handy too:

First of all, thank you to the Johnson brothers and letsrun for including Paralympic coverage on the homepage.
In-depth descriptions of International Paralympic Committee classifications for the disciplines of Track (T prefix) and Field (F prefix) can be found here:

Based on the number of classifiable competitors worldwide not all events are contested for each class and some classes are merged.
There is a movement that started at the National Office for inclusion- of some type- for parathletes into USATF competition.
Good point!
