quick run
quick run
I was hoping they would ask David what would be a fair distance to race Mo over.
1:40.8 and 43.9ish perhaps
Seems Rudisha has had a very active 2016.
Hell of a run by Mark English in 2nd two tenths back!
They had to come through 400m in 45 low.

What?
44.9 more like. It's 46.1 pace through 400.Was this on a road?

Road untill last 150m which is on a fast track. Times are quicker than the ones achieved on the track. Sharp herself can't run a 1.06 500m with only 54 400 speed. Otherwise she could run 1.23ish 600 and she can't. I'd say you have to add between 2 and 3 seconds to get the true time (the road seems to be slightly downhill too). Great run in any case, he could surely get the mark if he ran a 500m on the track.
the start is downhill so the times are meaningless. first 350 was on road, last 150 on track.
The course has up and down hills.
and he almost LOST.
. . . but was he carrying any coal?
If he could do this on a legitimate course (track), he could certainly get that 600m record from Johnny Gray. Could he have managed another 100m in 15 seconds after averaging just over 11.5 s/100m? But it was downhill so no counting it.

How do you know she can't?
1.23 is a time bettered by only a few of women in history. Alysia Montano, who is way faster than Sharp, ran that time and so did Jelimo. To run 1.23 she would need at least 52.0 speed, because even if you want it to be even pace you need to be at least 55.0 at 400m and Sharp can barely run faster than that in an all out 400.

Cruz was 58's in practice so pretty much what you'd expect.
Just imagine how fast Rudisha would go if he doubled his mileage and added some 20mi long runs at 9'mi pace.
Because it's her official pr. 54.43 official pr done in May this year. Power of 10 lists also a 52.9 leg in a relay which can be rounded to a 54 flat. With that speed it's impossible to run 1.24 let alone 1.23.

Wayde Dreamer would have been 2 seconds faster
If you look at the video closely (about 55sec in to the vid) you can see the 100m (to go) line on the track, and Rudisha went thru in 44.7!!
Would be great to see what he could run on a track to get a real gauge. Considering he goes thru in 47 point when running 600m, I can't see him going much quicker than 46.0 and 58.0
