Damn fast race. Can't really say i'd be dissapointed with a time like that. You race for place, but with a field like that, I think you go home happy.

You don't watch many 1500m races, do you?
He was 3:53.9 at 5th Ave. The road mile times are LEGIT
3:34 gets you jack squat on the world stage...9th place attests to that fact. At least Robby ran 3.46! Oh, wait, never mind.
who converts 1500 to the mile for a statement like that? Also while this was a solid international field, it wasn't incredible or particularly newsworthy. Centro has run ~1 second faster than the winner ran today and gotten 10th before.
At least you didn't convert to 1600, I will give you that much credit.
Yeah and? wrote:

And you haven't watched many 1500m races this year.

It was a 1500m race. May as well give the 5k conversion. It is factually incorrect to say he ran 3:51.
What a useless statment to make. He ran 3:34. Well done to him on the PB.
Ben has had a great season. Hats off to him. He made the Olympic finals and was just a second off the win and then topped it off with a 3;34.26 PR today. That's a US #2. Dream season.
I'd give him a #2 US rank ahead of Andrews.
That' a 2:10:13 marathon conversion. Good, but not great!

2:10 is a great marathon.
I mean, I could somewhat understand "dissappointed" or "disapointed" because then you'd only have one of them wrong, but both?!? Did one of those two look too long and the other too short and so you decided to throw in a random extra letter or something?

depends on the course, but i would tend to disagree.
Also i would also put blankenship at #2 this year for the US.

for an american yes a good time.
from a world perspective its not, in 2015 150+ ran under 2:10
2016 by year end looks to be more than a 160...
Guys, some of these responses were not made by me. Some loser posted under my name.
You can always use 1500m to mile conversions. Kiprop's 3:29.33 converts to 3:46.0, making him the #4 miler of all time and the fastest since 2001!
All you trolls can kiss it. My butt, I mean.

You can't say Kiprop is the fourth fastest miler of all time based on a 1500 conversion. If he didn't actually run a 3:46, he's not a 3:46 miler.
You know who's run a real mile? Jamie Norton. He ran 4:06 for the full mile. No conversion needed. Since he in fact ran 4:06 for the full mile, you can without a doubt say that Jamie Norton is in fact a 4:06 miler.

Kiprop is the fourth fastest miler of all time based on a 1500 conversion.
He's not even in the top 10 fastest milers of all time according to Track and Field News. Steve Cram is #4 at 3:46.32.
Kiprop is actually #3 on the 1500 list at 3:26.69.
You can't say he's the fourth fastest miler cus he didn't finish the race. He dropped out at 1500. Therefore his 3:26 is not a 3:43. Therefore that race doesn't qualify him to be called the 4th fastest miler. You need to actually participate in the event before you qualify for a list.
You may want to notify T&F NEWS and tell them they are wrong. If you still disagree.
His 3:26.69 converts to 3:43.16, just .03 off of El G's WR.
Kiprop is the #2 miler of all-time.
