Yes, they are high mileage. What they do at night while you are at sleep would blow your mind.
They aren't really sleeping. They sleep with one eye open, like east africans during the day.

it's because cats are lazy that's why. and when they sleep they grow more hair that sheds all over your couch.. carpet etc... cats are useless creatures. they scratch your eyes out.. they bite and hiss. if you have two cats. tie their tails together and throw them up on a telephone wire.
Exactly what else would cats be doing? They like many housepets are bored to death. Having housepets should be illegal. You are imprisoning someone.
Cats are sprinters. Bursts of activity followed by lots of rest, which they can get away with because their food is calorically and nutritionally dense. (Sort of like sprinters and PEDs, I guess?) Contrast to herbivores, who have to spend long hours munching away at their low quality food.
So, if cats are short sprinters, I guess that makes dogs (who hunt more on endurance) 800m or 1500m runners. And deer are 5000-10k runners.

They take a series of power naps. It's probably an evolutionary thing due to predators in the wild. I don't get why the modern day house cat and dog aren't deeper sleepers but in the wild both species would be wiped out if they slept like the guy who can sleep through a thunder storm.

How long do you think significant evolution takes?

Deer are definitely not 5/10 types. They're more like 800 outdoors/500 indoors types.
It's a satanic meditation technique

And do you believe that traits evolve away when they are no longer needed?
If you constantly had litter jammed in your crapcave, you would rest too.
Now cats are selectively bred by humans, so the evolutionary pressures are different. But look at dogs, and all the traits of different breeds. That's been in 10000 years or so. Although you probably believe in the bible and think the world was born 4000 BC.
They sleep all day so they're well rested for the night hunt. Domestic cats are nocturnal.
Speaking of nocturnal, I need to wash my sheets......
Domestic cats are one of the only species on the planet that kill for sport/fun.
If your cat were large enough, it would eventually eviscerate you.
I wonder the very same thing about greyhounds. Know anyone who owns one?
...if you could lay around and do nothing all day, have someone feed you, maybe kill some shit every now and then, and still stay fit enough to jump up on things 10 times taller than you, you would do it too.

Cats are crepuscular.
They aren't sleeping, they are scheming. Truth of the matter is if cats were big enough they would happily kill and eat you. They have no love or loyalty like dogs do.
