My highschool coach just brought this up for me. he said "everybody thinks more mileage is better but its not." "Doing 8 miles @10:00 pace vs doing 6 miles @8:00 pace" "The 6 mile is more beneficial." Honestly i always thought high mileage was better, but i think differently now. Most kids on his team run fast as f*** boiii but they never run more than 50 miles a week. One of them won a section at NB nationals. He can take a 6:00 mile kid and drop him to sub 5 in like a month or two doing only 25-30 miles a week. Dont know how he does it but im going to take his training philosophy over letsrun junkies. Jk you know i love this forum(not) but thoughts?!? Maybe the guys who do 70 miles a week but cant run an 18min 5k is because they're putting quantity over quality.
