I try to lift twice a week, and due to a 9-5 schedule it's tough to lift in the morning / run in the evening or vice versa while getting a good amount of sleep. Some days, though, I might be able to lift during lunch or something 3-4 hours before my run. After running, my lifting has been pretty miserable since I'm pretty tired.
I've read that I should lift on hard days to keep the easy days easy. Does lifting 3-4 hours before a tough workout hurt me noticeably in terms of maximizing performance? I notice that I am a little tired before but am not sure if I would be faster if I didn't lift. I am not sure - if I am a little more tired before the workout, but put in the same effort, will I still get as fast?
