my guess would be less than are hit today.
They won't be distracted by the latest text or phone conversation or drunk.
I won't say none, but I will say only a very small fraction of those that are hit by human drivers.
Compared to those hit by drivers playing Pokemon Go? Or texting their latest selfie?
Having spoken to a Tesla engineer on this very subject, the cars are designed to give a lot of space to runners/cyclists etc. I for one would far rather be passed by a self driving car than a speeding drunk teen.
