He said we were getting too friendly with one another so we sit on opposite sides now.
Apparently we were thinking about racing but were thinking about gettin it on!

Is it a short bus?
If he had qny since, he should take two busses,
Yeah, separate buses would be better.

Not all teams are that large and/or have that much funding. More often than not the extra bus comes out of the budget in lieu of needed equipment / supplies.
Have you ever been on a bus where people are having sex?
That's really dangerous. The boys side is obviously going to be way heavier than the girls side, so your bus is at risk of tipping if it takes a hard turn.

Is this an honest question?
I went to high school in the early 00s. At least once a year, I rode on a bus where people had sex. More so during the track season, but I remember it happening once during XC.

We had a handycap seat, if you know what I mean.
Pull a rosa parks
That's racist.

Separate but equal.
next time the rule in enforced pose the question to your coach : "what if caster was on this bus?" revel in his bewilderment and expect great things
Just be happy you are on the same bus. You can still sit across from the cute ones. You just have to save your finger bangin till you get home.
Ok, so find a cute boy to sit with. A nice, smooth frosh XC boy can be just as much fun as a girl.

Never knew it to happen in high school, but it was a frequent occurrence on college road trips. Dating couples on the XC and T&F teams always sat together. If you were sitting near the back of the bus and weren't wearing headphones, you could always hear dudes getting orally serviced. And if you were within one row, you could sometimes smell a gal getting manually serviced.
Your coach knows what he's doing. Any bus ride to a competition should involve nothing more than sitting completely silent and stone-faced while visualizing yourself destroying your competition. I know Abby looks really cute now that she got her braces off, but you can grovel for her attention at recess, not two hours before you need to will yourself far beyond your pain threshold. Man up, and you'll find yourself doing a lot better than a dry handy at the back of the bus.
Some of these have been great responses, but this one takes the cake.
Never heard of sex on the xc bus (AP squad with a running problem tends to have a bit more decency), but there is a legacy of things happening in the back of the track bus, legends of conquest passed on by upperclassmen to the impressionable freshmen.
In HS my girlfriend gave me a handjob on the way back from a meet.
I guess it still could have happened sitting on opposite sides of the bus.
