Bad idea? Not too bad?? I can lift and then do my run later at night which would be about 6-7 hours apart. Not sure if it'll tire me out a lot

I would stick to upper body lifts, eating more food. It shouldn't affect your long run.

Do it the other way around.
Run first, lift later.
You just stop running and lift to get jacked!!

If lifting is done to supplement your running then it could certainly work. I had a team that lifted then ran and they improved. Would running then lifting work better? We didn't have the option. Clyde Hart mentioned at a clinic that his team had to lift then run and the athletes got used to it and improved too.
