I mean... many of his athletes were stopped for doping (including SFP). Then, he says things like http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/sports/20150304/stephen-francis-labels-usain-bolt-nice-person-says-he-doesnt-fit-his
his style is not about coaching the best athletes at Champs or elsewhere.
"I delight in taking the guy who was fourth, fifth or sixth and try and beat the guy who won,"
Or about SFP, one of the best women sprinter ever,
http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/sports/20150304/stephen-francis-labels-usain-bolt-nice-person-says-he-doesnt-fit-his:
"I have found over the years that athletes who I have coached quickly developed a sense that the importance of their coach is reduced in their mind no matter how lowly a beginning they had. Eventually, in their mind, they believe they are extremely talented and my role is incidental to their success, and it is human."
What? Isn't having great talent a requirement to win the Olympics or even more to be one of the top five fastest ever?
Also, I'm no track expert but SFP and ET "progressions" seem really crazy: SFP had a 11.36 PB in 100m in 2007, then in 2008 she ran 10.78 to win the olympic final; ET had a 11.22 PB in 100m and a 23.xx PB in 200m in 2014, and in 2015 we all know what happened.
Isn't this suspicious? What do you think about this letsrun coaches?
