Hey how's it going everyone? I've been running going on 5 yrs now. I'm a 42yr old male so please keep that in mind. I'm not a young cross country star so don't pick on my times.
Anyway, I have met most of my other running goals.... Sub 3:10 marathon BQ, sub 1:30 half, sub 39 10k, sub 19 5k... The one that I set out to originally obtain though has been the toughest, and that's the sub 18 5k.. I've ran 18:10 once, most of this yr i've been anywhere from 18:20 to 18:50 range..
So I guess my question is what do I need to do? I've been ramping up the track workouts been doing 6x800 mostly.. Usually can nail those in the 2:50 range...
Really hoping my upcoming Sep race to nail the sub 18 i've always dreamed of.. I've also lost 15lbs in the last 10 wks.. Hopefully that'll help.. Any advice for an old man is greatly appreciated Thanks.
