So that sounds like a strained adductor with possible osteitis pubis.
My best bet was that you strained your adductor/groin a bit and continued running. The adductor muscles attach in at your pubic symphysis which is located basically at the base of your testicles. The pubic symphysis connects a bunch of muscles like your adductor and abdominal. It's sort of a central junction and if your adductor muscle is torn and comprised (specifically at the insertion point to the pubic symphysis) then it can result in osteitis pubis and very commonly you can experience a pain in your balls.
Was in that position before and had a nasty bout of it when eventually led way to abdominal and oblique issues as well and it all began with a minor groin sprain I ran through.
My suggestion would be to not take any anti-inflmatatories as inflammation is a key process of the remodeling of damaged tissue, but ice when ever you feel acute pain.
If I could go back and take a few days-a week off then I could've saved months of training, but I didn't, so just be conservative. Try staying away from running when your mechanics break down (long runs + quality efforts) as that is generally what can escalate an injury like this.
I would stay on flat, even soft surfaces and heat before runs. In addition to that, rolling and self massage of the adductors, light stretching once the pain resolves of the groin and some adductor strengthening exercises (concentric squeezes pillow between legs) in addition to general hip, glute, abdominal work to try to mitigate load from the injured area.
Best of luck, hope this helped and you are back to 100% soon.
