I do concur that Paul Chelimo is a stud. Needs to work on his tactics though.
And another thing - I noticed that the snows were not all that deep this year in Michigan. It almost seemed like they weren't as cold either but I could be wrong on this one.

I root for whoever is running the best and who has the best attitude, i.e. works hard, runs hard, is honest, and is not disparaging to the other competitors.

Sports and recreation is the leading industry of Southern California. L.A. re-invented the Olympics in 1932, and in 1984 L.A. TV made the Olympics profitable for the first time.

Yeah but why make every meet from NYC, Penn, Eugene, etc. look like it's in L.A. (or in the San Fernando Valley) with Ato in charge, JJK, Gail Devers, and John Godina commenting. TV has no respect for any location outside of L.A.

I just find it difficult to celebrate the fact that the wealthiest countries in the world are successful in sport. It feels, I dunno, bratty?
They film all sorts of stories on NBC about Michael Phelps or Galen Rupp, and that's supposed to make me want to root for them over the guy whose family was so poor that he didn't have toys as a kid and played with old shoes? Or the guy who only has enough money to eat once a day and works the fields for hours for a dollar a day while training full time?
I love hearing the training stories from Kenya, I really wish that were the standard for professional journalism.
Sometimes the human interest stories really belong on 60 Minutes. Such as the stories of South Sudanese runners targeted by snipers while training, or Palestinian runners being captured and raped by Israel soldiers.
