I'm doing some personal research on how much weight I need to lose to meet my running goals. Looking for the heaviest LR contributor to break 3 hours in the marathon?

In 2015, the heaviest MCM finisher under 3:00 weighed 195. Another guy was 193.

In 2014, two guys who weighted in at 200 lbs broke 3:00:

I almost did at 195..I know, doesn't count. But if I would have done more than 40mpw, I may not have slowed down after 20.
So a 270 Lb dude ran a 3:08?
Interesting.

What is this data from? Is there more available? It looks like this doesn't contain all of the finishers. Does MCM really weigh each of its participants, or does it ask for weight data upfront? (And if so, is it optional?)
I'd love to see a full set of this data, especially across various races/years, so I can run some statistical analysis. (Which is what I do professionally, and sometimes for fun on race results... but it's tough to get comprehensive data.) I've never seen weight included with results so this is really interesting.
Marine Corps Marathon has "Clydesdale/Athena weight class" awards
presumably one has to be officially weighed
MCM Weight Groups
Clydesdale divisions: top two males: 185-199 lbs, 200-224 lbs, 225+ lbs
Athena divisions: top two females: 155-169 lbs, 170+ lbs

Well damn. I weigh 172 as of this morning. (5'11") Too bad I can't call myself Clydesdale. I'm just another chubby hobby slogger. *sigh*
The fastest Clydesdale runner (200 pounds and over), ran the 2015 CIM marathon in 3:00:19.

I did not know this was a thing. Fascinating. So so far it looks like just under 200 pounds and it's doable but not exactly common...
Any other large dudes out there?

I ran 2:39:49 at 5'10", 163 lbs. I thought that was pretty fat. 200 lbs is damn near obese for someone under 6'0".
2:27:16 at 5'7" / 160# - has to be up there w fastest of the fatties

Interesting.
I looked the guy up. He is 170 tops. Probably a typo.
