I began running cross country for the first time. It is my senior year and i have trained a lot over the summer. My first two meets, however, i ran terribly. I rested a day before both meets but when the race came i couldnt keep up with the people i always practice with. My body got tired halfway through the race both races before my legs felt anything. It wasn't much of a shortness of breathe either as i know i am fairly well conditioned. By the end of the race i was exhausted but my legs felt completley fine. I felt like i had no energy during the race and couldnt keep my proper form. This affected me especially up hills. I read up and think it may be from bad eating the night before and day of. Or possibly an iron deficiency. Any suggestions?
