I'm looking for a premium coffee that delivers a sustained mild buzz and no crash. That's honestly all I care about, a long, smooth pick-me-up from preferably one 12oz cup. Any suggestions?

All coffee has the same caffeine. Some might have more and some might have less, but they won't have a different type of caffeine or different effect from that caffeine. It isn't like marijuana where dozens of chemicals are involved, so there can be differences in the perception of the effect of the drug.
If all you care about is caffeine, buy whatever coffee you want and try it out. If it works, keep buying that one. If not, buy a different one. Everybody has a different caffeine tolerance, so it is impossible to really recommend one if your only criteria is caffeine.
Now flavor is different, but you don't seem interested in that.
What you should look at, in my opinion, is EGCg, a compound derived from green tea. It's available in pill form and does exactly what you're looking for. Good stuff, IMO. I keep some around for days when I need a bit more boost.
for taste, your best bet is single origin coffees from the Rift valley countries other than Ethiopia (a fascist dictatorship). I forget the specific regions, but there are several from Kenya that are good. Jamaica blue mountains and haiti are pretty good too. If it all tastes the same to you, get a single origin coffee from columbia or
If it all tastes the same, freeze dried Taster's Choice.
I recommend everyone grow & roast their own beans. I look down upon people who buy coffee at a store especially that pre-ground dirt.
The first cup of the day is always the best.

I tried this stuff in Indonesia. The Civets (tree cats) eat and poop it out. They then roast coffee and try to sell it for $125/lb. Amazing how many people we're buying the small 100g bags for $20-30. Chinese tourists were gobbling it up as a show-off thing to bring back to their friends.
Tasted alright, I guess ....

I had an aero press single origin Ethiopian about 6 months ago... And I swear it was the best coffee I've ever had. My wife thinks I'm a huge knob for proclaiming it, but it was amazing.
^ juan valdez in the house. You know how many beans of coffee come from a coffee tree? It's like a two weeks worth of coffee..

Harrar is the shiznit. Tastes like a blueberry muffin. Amazing.
I do a bi-weekly single-origin subscription from Blue Bottle in Oakland CA. Highly recommended for people who want to try a variety of really good coffees, fresh and properly roasted.

I went through a period in my life where I needed to find an alternative to coffee. Turns out that green tea + ginseng gelcaps was the perfect switcheroo.
What I remember from that time is the almost magical feeling that I'd found the holy grail. I got most of the high of coffee, but smoother, and absolutely no crash. I kept waiting for the five-hour crash and it never came. Nor did I have the jittery, fog-headed high. I was just clear, calm, and full of energy.
Mr. Lee's Green Tea and one of those basic health-shop generic ginseng gelcaps. Try it.
These days I'm basically a two-to-three-cups-a-day coffee drinker. I've discovered, though, that consuming coffee with milk, French-style, makes a huge difference. I like the taste of black coffee, but it hits my head much faster. As cafe au lait or latte, however, the fat and protein in the milk slow down the attack-rate and my head is fine. A big Starbuck's coffee with a little milk, though, is fog-head all morning. Funny how that works.
Sorry: Uncle Lee's:
Anyone try coconut oil in their coffee?? We're on a non-dairy kick for the next few months. 99% of the time i drink coffee black, but my wife picked up a huge tub of coconut oil and it got me thinking about the butter in coffee debate.
Anyone?
Dirt Cowboy Cafe in Hanover, NH. They have an online store as well.

Yes: it's fine. I also sometimes add cocoa nibs and vanilla-flavored almond milk.
Best coffee EVER? Vietnamese Passiona. No longer exported (and rumor is no longer made). Other Chari (Excelsa) bean coffees are just not as good (1/3 less caffeine and a chocolate flavor, btw).
In lieu, I'm a Sumatran kinda guy. I also like some other Vietnamese blends.

That's what Matcha is for (no crash or jitters).
