Given what they had to work with, in terms of athletes, financial support, places to train, what US coach had the best Olympics?

Wetmore by far. No doping of athletes or gray area bulls**t, no bogus altitude tents, is 2 for 2 with athletes to medals. Boulder is a great place to train but people elsewhere are allowed to train anywhere they feel is best.

This is ridiculous. It's well known in the running community that Jenny was been on thyroid meds since college, and they both use the Alter-G on a regular basis. Also, just because only two of his athletes made the Olympics doesn't make him 2 for 2. He had plenty of athletes who didn't make it out of the trials.

Let's also not forget about the iron injections he would have his collegiate athletes get back in the day, including K. Goucher.
Nevertheless, he'a a great coach like the others mentioned, but cut the crap. Wetmore dabbles just as much in the gray area as Salazar. If you want to call it that. Some would say they are just being good coaches.
I'm also pretty sure Wetmore's athletes will use cooling apparatuses on occasion. Lastly, Wetmore and his athletes use altitude. It's called Boulder, and that's the sole purpose of why they are there and not Topeka.
Agreed. There are no secret workouts. Everyone knows what it takes to get fast. Good coaches operate at the margins, looking for that extra percent. If you're not working the "gray area" (or whatever), then you're not going to be successful.
What about Schumacher? 8 athletes, all made the finals in their respective events where applicable, two top ten in the marathon, 2 top 11 in Steeple, bronze for Evan jäger, and I think a PR for Betsy S.
Ed Eyestone. 6th in OG Marathon with a 2:13 PR going into the Games is HUGE.
Also, there's no way to know what Shaq Walker could have accomplished had he been put in the OTs final instead of Craig Engel.

Decent argument. I think he's probably #2 behind AlSal.
Now I KNOW you're lying. This is the second you've accused Jenny of being on thyroid meds. And now you are saying "since college." Well, that's a lite. And Mark Wetmore does not have the authority to administer iron injections, only a doctor (or nurse) can do so as part of a prescription for extreme anemia.Altitude is not a PED it is a way of life. Your choice.Alter-Gs are in use at CU.STOP LYING.Coach Mark Wetmore is the best.
Nic Bideau did a very good job.

Jager got the silver. Also, there are no dots above the "a" in his last name. Do you think that makes you look cool or something?
Scott Simmons and Dan Browne did very well with their WCAP runners
Danny Mackey hit it out of the park
Matt Centrowitz, Senior, coached his 1st Olympic Champion.

Oops, I meant silver! And no, I don't think the dots make me look cool. My phone autocorrected it and did that and I published before I could change it. Way to make assumptions about a person though!

So many fallacies in this.
1. Jenny is not, nor has never been, on thyroid meds.
2. Wetmore does not give athletes iron shots. A physician would have to diagnose someone with severe anemia and order it.
3. Oh you had better believe that there are secret workouts. Wetmore doesn't share those publicly and will change the workout if Flotrack drops in.

Lol'd at this. Brooks Beasts really killin' it. 0 Olympians. Maybe if Danny and Jesse Williams spent less time whining about everything and trying to annoy Nike they'd do better.

Excellent! Forgot about him.
Except for Schumaker and Wetmore, don't think there's anyone under 60?
