Once reporters actually started digging the truth leans far in Lochte's favor. This is looking like a typical extortion by Brazilian police.

I wonder if Ryan had liability insurance or a personal umbrella policy that will cover the Endorsement losses as a result of Brazil's extortion.
I see the PR company Lochte hired is trolling the forum.
Did the PR company hire USAToday as well? It's been obvious all along that while Lochte may have exaggerated, they were definitely coerced into handing over money because at one point they had guns pointed at them.
USAToday is dumber than Lochte is. A chimpanzee can write more truthfully.
The big Lochte thread totally debunks the "USA Today" myth that was invented 4 days after the fact.
Unsurprisingly, USA Today is in a consortium of companies that includes others related to the incident, and they probably don't want the stocks to tank (at least before they cash out).
Yep. Lochte and co were victims of one of the most common scams perpetrated against western tourists in third world countries like Brazil and the Rio government clearly condones those types of actions and was even complicit in this one.
Yes, and Americans aren't greedy war mongers with a thirst for oil.

Glad you're finally coming to accept the truth. Hope your boss doesn't dock your pay for that one though. Can't believe they'll be too happy when the find out their paid shill is deviating from the script.
Cops are a bunch of liars, I'm sick of cops lying to me to try to get me to give them information they want to hear. Cops will lie to cover their ass and extort individuals. They knew what they were doing. Lochte is a douche but I feel bad for him. This is BS.
Geez, "extorting" only $50 from Lochte? I can "extort" more than that from the oil on an average American's greasy face. I would have beat Lochte with a baton until he couldn't move anymore and take his phone, watch, $6000 shoes and the hundred of dollars and credit cards in his wallet. Amateurs. Let me show you how a true American extorts.
Lochte originally said that the swimmers were 1) pulled over by fake police officers, 2) held up (at one point with a gun to his head), and 3) made to give over hundreds of dollars/wallets in an apparent armed robbery.
Even if they were 'shaken down' by security guards for minor vandalism of the gas station, his story was, for the most part, complete BS.
This is why he lost all his sponsors - deservedly so.
Lochte wasn't robbed at all in any case.
Maybe two of the other swimmers were (I forget which), but not Lochte.
Nevermind his tall tale about them taking his money and wallet (with a gun cocked to his head).
The USOC said that all 4 swimmers lied to them with that.
When you come right down to it, the whole reason the SJW media is going on about this is that there were caught peeing as males without sitting down, and that's just not acceptable these days (cf. Sweden).
That's the whole story.

'Truth' and 'Locate' are two words that don't belong together in a sentence. Or paragraph. Novella, Novel, Tome, or Magnum Opus even....

By putting the focus on Lochte, the media has conveniently glossed over the fact that three other U.S. swimmers who had cleared customs and boarded a plane were removed from that plane and had their passports confiscated.
While Lochte only had to fork over $50, one swimmer was forced by the Brazilian authorities to give a $10,800 donation to charity to get his passport back. This is straight extortion, and the fact that it went to a "charity" shows that they knew it was extortion and tried to cover it up with the mask of charitable giving.
So, everyone can b**** and moan about how Lochte "lied," but it is all a convenient coverup for the fact that (1) the Brazilian government extorted money from one of our athletes, and (2) that the USOC would rather throw Lochte under the bus to save face instead of investigating what happened and defending its athletes.
The witness, Fernando Deluz, says he got involved after one of the guards pulled a gun on the men.
"As soon as they drew their weapon, that's when I got worried,†Deluz, a disc jockey, told USA TODAY Sports on Saturday.
The Brazilian Mike Rossi comes to the rescue.

At a news conference Thursday, Rio police chief Fernando Veloso characterized the athletes' actions at the gas station as vandalism. He said they also had broken a soap dispenser and mirror inside the restroom. Reports quickly grew that the Americans had trashed the restroom.
A USA TODAY Sports videographer who visited the bathroom Thursday found no damage to soap dispensers and mirrors and said none of those items appeared to be new. Some media accounts suggested the men had broken down a door, which USA TODAY Sports also did not observe.
Looky, looky. Rio police chief caught in a lie too.
