All I can think of is green water, unnecessarily sharp turns in the marathon, and some leaky pipes.
Did Rio do better than expected?

It's obvious, Ryan Lochte and Team USA were the biggest embarrassments by far.
Hardly Rio's fault.
I can't quite fathom why everyone hates Americans with upstanding citizens like Lochte and the rest of his US swimming mates.

Rio's performance was about as I expected. Pretty poor compared to London and Beijing.
The most annoying thing was all the DQs in Track & Field.
The most embarrassing? Has to be all the US athletes giving the glory to some magic sky wizard. Can you believe all of these adults actually buy into fairy tales? It's comical.

Yea, at least another 5-10 years of having a bad rep internationally. Thanks, brosephs.

You can't blame Lochte for that when the US has been dropping bombs on villages all over the world for the last 70 years.
The biggest embarrassment was the empty stadium.

Thanks Rojo!
The biggest failure is yet to come. The Rio Olypics organizing committee has totally failed our Paralympians. For me, that is unforgivable.
Ratings down 38%....
Other than the green pool, the reports of some relatively minor crime to journalists/visitors, the optics of Rio weren't as bad as I would have expected. The sometimes lack of spectators was incredibly lame.
I'm sure more will come out as people talk and as the IOC reviews the Games.
How about all the millenials who showed how in mature they actually are. "Wah wah.. she touched me during my race". I demand another chance... or deal with my laywer.

Well done. Thejeff is indeed Rojo. Did you come to this conclusion independently or did you see the thread where I caught him red handed that was promptly deleted. I still have the screenshot evidence. Sneaky turd.

I believe the open water swimming platform was destroyed/carried to shore prior to the event, and there are complaints that the pool carried a current (although that also happened at London).
Ignoring Lochte's nonsense, apparently a British athlete was mugged, 2 Australian sailors were mugged, a Chinese athlete was mugged, a Belgian judo bronze medalist was mugged, a Russian swimmer was mugged, a media van was hit by a bullet, and a media tent by the equestrian event was hit by a bullet.
There was also a camera falling in the stadium that injured/hospitalized half a dozen people or so, a collapsed sailing pier, and some nearly empty venues.
Overall, this was much better than expected, especially with the minimization of issues from sewage. I was sure that some athletes were going to get sick during the games, or that someone would be killed.

Lol :-)
My preferred sky wizards can at least cast chain lightning and summon greater air elementals from other planes.
Most embarrassing moment was all through out: the local 'fans'. Chanting the Portuguese word for dike at a goalie for no reason; booing people taking victory laps; supporting any country over the US, even if it's Serbia or China; heckling Andy Murray during serves and even making fake 'out' calls during points in the gold medal match.
I just knew Brazilian fans before from concerts where they're wonderful. I suppose concerts aren't competitive so it's different.
