If we all have the premise that the likes of Dibaba and Ayana are doping, well we can conclude that doping does not assist with recovery from deep muscle fatigue.
1st Example: last year we thought Dibaba was unbeatable. She ran 3:50 for 1500m, yet at the World Championships was unable to successfully double 1500/5000m. The effort from the 1500m was too much to overcome in the 5000m.
2nd Example: we thought Ayana was going to rock the 5000m. However, she was unable to recover from the 10,000m WR and we saw what happened in the 5000m final.
Doping does not help two things -
1. Form. The genetic freaks that are the Dibabas or Ayana or Rudisha or Murphy... drugs cannot help one bit with form and biomechanics. Drugs can make you power through and succeed (i.e, Radcliffe running 5:00/mi at the end of a marathon looking like a train wreck; Ben Johnson powering 100m)
2. Recovery in Championship Racing. The time in between is not enough. Even if you have been doping leading up to an Olympics, it can't help you in a race schedule so condensed for best performances.
