Personally I think this is a solution to a non-problem, but here is everyone's favorite blabby sports scientist, Ross Tucker (Free State Univ).
T measures compulsory for all. Limit 300% higher than 99% of that sex. No sex testing, but blanket T regulation.
I think the IAAF should've set upper limits for T for both men & women. 3-fold higher than 99-%, just like for women
The real issue is who can compete in a "women's" event. Tucker admits in another tweet that the presence of a Y chromosome would be another way to differentiate, but claims there are "social reasons" that makes this poor and "unfair" (?!)
there are social & science/ethical reasons that led us NOT to identify females by presence of Y chromosomes. T was a compromise
yeah but social reasons, 80 years of history and a lot of ethics mean that Y chromosome is a poor (& unfair) way to identify
He also considered whether a low-T "male" could compete in the "female" division once it becomes the "low-T" division (in his fantasy world).
