Adam Goucher and Galen Rupp both are heading to World X-Country Championships were I feel they will both have very good performances. At the Washington Last Chance Meet Goucher pulled a great double and Galen snagged the American Junior records indoors with a performance equal to the outdoor record. ********************* Men 1 Mile Run ================================================================================ NCAA Auto: A 3:59.30 NCAA Prov: P 4:04.90 Fac. Hopefully our runners can continue to improve and 2005 will be a great year for our young talented juniors and established runners at the World Championships. VIPAM |

what is rupp's pr for 1000 meters? thought he was a longer distance type of guy. |
| Brown or White? |

Great performances by Goucher and Rupp, good things are to be expected from both of them this year. The result that I was really pleased to see was Rice's own, Steve Magness, almost back to form w/ a 4:03, let's hope he finally turns it around this season. |
| Very good |

Galen is impressive, but he still didn't run as fast as Josh McDougal in the 3000 today. Galen with all his professional coaching and state of the art gadgets and training facility still can't top Josh who trains alone, goes to school full time, and isn't being catered to with coaching, facilities, training and racing schedule, etc. It makes one wonder what Josh could do with Galen's set up. |

Sorry to spoil your party Vipam, but the man of the freakin' night was 42 year old Tony Young in 4:05! |

You are a retard |

McDougal is substantially older as well. |
| Very good |
| ||
|
Older yes - substantially no. And the training set up between the two cannot even come compare. One has the training advantage of a professional and one does not. |

age aint got shit to do with it. just face, that pussy babied rupp is gonna get his ass worked whenever he races mcdougal, and withrow for that matter. i mean, look at what rupp has compared to the other 2. you'd think that he'd be blowin them away.... |

One should take in consideration that the individuals may be peaking for different events-one indoors and one x-country! The times each are running are great but comparing their times and they are peaking for different events and surfaces doesn't fare well. I'm still impressed by all three young runners and JUST hope each stay healthy and greater performances will come. VIPAM |

McDougal - June 1, 1985 Rupp - August 5, 1986 1 year and 2 months is pretty substantial. |

who the hell cares about age man!!! last year, when mcdougal ran 14:10 or somewhere around there and 8:45 for 2 miles, rupp was running 8:0x and 13:37 while being a whole year younger than mcdougal... now, mcdougal seems to be improving a little better than rupp... age does not matter... in fact some 42 year old guy ran 4:05 at the UW meet and he beat guys that are 20 years younger!!! being older, younger, whatever has nothing to do with it.. |

The most impressive time is the 4:05.51 by Tony Young... that's hauling for an old guy. |
| Shorter Than Frank |

shit...that's hauling for ANY age...way to go, tony. keep those young dudes honest! |

Wow, I was just looking through the results and Tony Young ran 4:05 at 42 years old. That is impressive. |
| Very good |
| ||
|
You're kidding right? That's only substantial when comparing a new born with a 1 1/2 year old. It sure isn't substantial when comparing an 18 & 19 year old. Get real! |

Vipam has a good point about the peaking for different things... Why has everyone ignore it? |

15min because the point was made by me, now watch how many respond to me saying this! VIPAM |

Also, progress since last year is obviously going to be skewed toward McD. After, he didn't have a stress fracture this fall. |

The last time that Rupp, McDougal, and Withrow all raced was the Junior National 5000.
