Doubtful. 0.78 is long time in 200m.
No. He was pretty close to flat out most of the way and relaxed near the end.
Probably more like 19.4x.
Uh he ran it into a head wind?
He shut down with 50 to go, with an average start...
He said afterwards that he doesn't think he'll break the record. And Blake isn't going to medal
Yeah, but it's not like he came to a full stop. He was still maintaining speed fairly well. He will probably run a similar bend in the final. He might come within reach of the Olympic Record, but 19.18 or better doesn't seem very likely.

No, he barely shut it down. Had to push in this one. 19.4ish is best one can expect.
They may run into head wind tomorrow too.
I agree with your top two picks. 3rd place is up for grabs.
He let his buddy almost catch him. Phenomenal.
Blake couldn't crack 20.
Blake and gatlin didnt even make the final...
It will be
Bolt
De grasse
Meritt
Id be shocked if it were anyone else.
Yeah, Bolt, Merritt and De Grasse are basically a lock for the medals now. Probably in that order I'm thinking.

You were a moron to think Blake would medal. He isn't anywhere near what he was 4 years ago
Sub 19 no, WR maybe. And so much for blake.
To be fair, meritt had a bad start in his semi, but he was flat out all the way through.
For de grasses semi, he bad an average start but didnt run the bend as well as meritt.
Idk about bolts time but im guessing:
De Grasse 19.75
Merirt 19.79
Bolt could be anywhere from 19.x to 19.4x so I have no clue.
Bolt would need the best start of his life, best reaction time, best bend hes ever run with a 2.0 tailwind and holding down the best form to break his world record.
Dont think sub 19 tho but if he pulls what I said off, it will break WR.
Realistically, im guessing 19.3x high in the final from him. Maybe 19.4x low.
Looks like both blake and gatlin have cycled off the dope haha
Blake had a terrible hamstring injury a couple years back. absolutely demolished his hamstring with a full tear needing surgery. he didnt run for over a year. of course hes never going to be the same. wtf.

Nah, but 19.4 is probably about right.

I agree - a 2.0 tail might do it but otherwise I can't see a WR in the final. Yes he did ease off a little at the end but no way that was worth 0.7s.
I took the smiling thing to mean that he was surprised and pleased to see De Grasse so close. Are they known to be friends? That's the sort of reaction I'd have if I saw a friend closer than I'd expected and had to dig deep to beat them.
Yes they're really good mates. Both run similar to each other.
I'd be surprised by sub-19.5. Would not be surprised to see 19.65+
