De Olivera slide across the line to get the 4th automatic spot.
Belocian false start. Shame.
Allen and Douvalidis win heat 4
62.01 for Feng to be the first automatic qualifiers.
In the live commentary section this just popped up: "It sounds like there will be some kind of re-run for the earlier hurdle heats, but the details aren't clear yet. " Um...

Was that a rain heat? Will he get to do the rerun?
Was that the debut of the speed tape?

Ash wins heat 5 in 13.31, better than a false start indeed :)

9:45 according to the live results.
Perkovic qualifies easily after a scare with 2 no throws. 64.81. Now that the rain is gone people are getting the standard. And about the Rerun, this is what the commentators said: "It sounds like the proposed 110m hurdles "re-run" will be at the end of the evening's program and will be for time qualification only - no automatic qualifiers from this race. It's not clear what that means for currently listed time qualifiers"

Just talked to the guys on their way to the stadium in Rio. They are predicting a sub-49 winning time in the 400.
What guys?
Does anyone really care about the 110 hurdles? I think most here would lament how much time is wasted setting up the hurdles and taking them down at a typical track meet.
Pole vault results from before the delay were thrown out, the competition there completely restarted. Tracy win heat one of the 400m hurdles in 54.88. Hejnova 55.54. Mclaughlin 5th in 56.32 waiting on time.
I liked Sydney's post-race interview, "These peopel aren't here to play."
That being said. What an awful race. And she let up before the line and that might cost her a spot in the next round.
Seeing that made me appreciat her performance at the Trials. Remember, at the Trials, it came out after she made the team that her coaches had to talk her into not pulling out before the first round as she thought the pressure was too big for her.
It wasn't then but was tonight. Let's hope she makes it and gets to play with the house's money in the next round.
I really hope so as I picked her 3rd in the prediction contest.
Barber fails at 5.50. Big Surprise.
Her interview wasn't reassuring. lots of excuses. Still young, however.
It looked like none of the women in that 400m hurdles semi cared about what they were doing. They looked very unhappy to be there and unhappy to be running and the top 2 were complacent with their finishes. Very weird.
