Evening Session!!! Discus throw qualification for women, Men's pole vault final, and the 110 hurdle heat all right now.
McLeod 13.27 looked good, and eased up a lot at the end.
Wet track, can we say that Rudisha has already lost?
It's pouring right now. might effect the performances.
Just talked to the guys on their way to the stadium in Rio. They are predicting a sub-49 winning time in the 400.
Anybody see the end of the womens 10K open water swim? Battle for silver got ugly. French woman basically tackled the Italian woman to keep her from touching the line before her. French woman got DQ'ed. Brasilian woman then got Brazil's first Olympic swimming medal with the bronze.
Crazy that after a two-hour swim, the difference between second and third was going to be a fraction of a second. Almost reminded me of that time Paul Tergat won NY marathon by a nose at the finish.
Here's the video of the battle for silver:

Scratch that, it is, the 3 pole vaulters who have gone have all missed, and the discus throwers are all hitting the net.

13.33 by Ortega terrible start, good time considering everyone in that heat was slipping and sliding everywhere,
The competition has ceased and is delayed because of the absolute down pour right now, the complete opposite of this morning.
Barber and Lavillenie having a conversation, looks like there friends, nice to see the competitors being friendly to each other and enjoying their experience.

Thanks for the post, but there's no video there.
Nevermind. I had popups blocked.
Oh no! Kryptonite for the great Rudisha.
It's hard to tell who caused the foul from that video.
It looks like the one with the black cap intentionally swam into the one with the white cap trying to block her from the finish, which she partially accomplished, as the one in the white cap ended up on top of her. Thus the one in the black cap did block the one in the white cap from the finish. I'm not sure which one is which country though. A better video and view of the finish would help.
looks like their coming back out.

Sub-48 used to be the norm (at least in the Edwin Moses days). What is the WR - like 46.84? So two seconds off the WR is a very good time? That is like a 45.0x 400.
He probably doesn't get it.
