So close again, just slightly ontop of the bar, but he had the height. Da Silva cleared he moves up, and now Lavillenie has to clear this to get gold.

6.03 for Da Silva 6.03 OR

did you see Watson walking away...? holy buns batman!
I can not tell a lie. I was watching it live and saw that and then had to hit record just to go back and make sure I wasn't seeing things.
You can tell that the cameraman knew what was up. Most athletes who are walking away don't get that much camera time.
Lavillenie has passed ad the bar is now at 6.08. This may be the greatest Pole Vault competition of all time. Lavillenie has to clear this now or Da Silva wins. Lavillenie knocks it down, and Da Silva has won gold at home. What an upset. Interesting to see if goes for greater heights now.
Kind of disappointing that Da Silva is not trying anything higher, put still and awesome pole vault competition.
What a friggin pole vault competition!! What a blast to watch. I didn't give DaSilva a chance, the way Lavillinie was vaulting. Holy Shite!! What a night
You're just getting this!? Every East German runner, swimmer, and heaven knows who else, was doped: state run program from top to bottom. Pity poor Frank Shorter!

definitely an incredible competition, only 3 men have gone higher than renaud in a losing effort (all 3 at 6.00). Thiago earned that one though, and kendricks was real close on all of his at 5.93.
Also will be curious to read the upcoming IAAF feature on murphy, that was an incredible race by him.
nobody has said anything about the brazilian being doped or having an illegal pole... That was an intense comp.

No. If my understanding of a 'torso' is correct, I'd say 0.02 or 0.03. They are wrong.
Here's the finish line photo:
http://imgur.com/a/km9M1The gap between Felix (2nd) and Miller (1st) is nearly identical to the gap between Francis (5th) and Hastings (4th).
Francis was .07 seconds behind Hastings, just like Felix was .07 behind Miller.

The women's 400m is quite weak at the moment.
The winner ran a great race, but winning times should be closer to 48 seconds or faster.
No one's even close to giving a go at Koch's 47.6 record.
What the heck is up with the women's 400m????
It's like they're all dead before starting, and afraid to run fast.
Men's time 43.03 x110 percent = 47.34 seconds.
Four in men's final at 44 or better x110 percent = 48.4 seconds.
I know it's hours late but I just have to post about Rudisha. What a joy that guy is to watch. The London final might have been the most blown away I have ever been by a dominating track performance, and tonight after some struggles over the last few years, he just powers his way to another decisive win putting him alongside only Snell with two golds. Total beast. Only El G can match him as a middle distance stud in my track-watching career (the last 15 years).
Heck of a Games for Murphy, too, and Miller's dive just topped off an awesome night on the track.
seemed like Kipketer and Rudisha had no clue about each others tactic....very strange.....

THEY WILL DO THE SAME THING WHEN HILLARY COMES IN 2ND!!
That's quite an association out of left field, but just to play along I guess there are some similarities.
