Lavillenie clears 5.85 on on the first attempt. So much for not being able to preform on the big stage since 2012. Kendricks makes 5.85 on the first attempt as well. Da Silva made it as well.

Kudlicka passes after missing 5.85 once.

The top of my chest meets the bottom of my neck, which is inline with my shoulder... unless I'm missing a body part.

You measure from the chest, not the shoulder. Idiot. Ever actually run a timing system?
Lavillenie gets 5.93 with no misses at all so far. Da Silva missed his first attempt, Kendricks up now
Lisek up now, only gets two attempts at 5.9 since his missed one a 5.83 then passed.
Kudlicka is out, Da Silva now.

No. If my understanding of a 'torso' is correct, I'd say 0.02 or 0.03. They are wrong.
I was watching on the phone app. As the race played out, I thought it was closer. On the replay, I still thought it was closer.
The finishing tape pic shows them more spread out. You know the white background finishing pic they also use in cycling with the vertical lines showing how each one crosses the line. That pic is not taken with a SLR, but a camera with a slit and the film goes the speed as the runners (or cyclists) so it constantly films as they cross the line, which is why some of the wheels and spokes or other aspects come out weird and distorted.
On the phone app, they showed the white finishing tape pic with the vertical lines. I should've taken a screenshot. And they don't let you rewind on the phone app. It's all just live. Don't know if they showed this pic on tv or not.
Da Silva over 5.93 to stay in.

Jesus, Dude. Your mom must be very proud of the man you have become.
So close, Kendricks is out, he has the bronze medal.
Brazilians should be happy, Da Silva is guaranteed silver and could get old, though if both he and Lavillenie don't make it Lavillenie gets gold.
Lavillenie makes 5.98, no faults so far, 1cm higher than what he one with in London. Olympic record. Da Silva skipping 5.98. 6.03 now.

From the picture, it looked like they measured from Miller's shoulder, not her torso. They aren't supposed to do that.

Her shoulder is part of her torso, and she won by .07 anyway.

How are those woman still breathing so hard? That honestly doesn't make sense.
The women's 400m is quite weak at the moment.
The winner ran a great race, but winning times should be closer to 48 seconds or faster.
No one's even close to giving a go at Koch's 47.6 record.
So close for Lavillenie barley missed 6.03, his nose hit the bar. Da silva missed to
