Newton's second law of motion f=ma, force = mass times acceleration.
Apply this to any athletic event and efficiency of movement is the key to improved performance.
So when you race faster you are using less total energy to complete the race than your previous best time.
The 'Peformance Enhancing Drug' concept makes people believe the opposite, that superior athletic performance comes from using more energy not less.
So according to the PED concept, Sir Isaac Newton was wrong.
I've been trying to get this across for a few years here, and as you will expect, the response has been mostly a lack of interest combined with incredulity that I would even attempt to make such a suggestion. And the expected chimes of "You must be trolling?"
It's basic physics; you run more efficiently, you run faster and use less energy not more energy. Your natural ability is much more than what your metabolism can supply, but a combination of that and your level of efficiency in applying that energy output efficiently. But the belief is that by using drugs, this energy output is exceded and this is a false concept that is used to make up for the lack of understanding of what is actually happening biologically and biomechanically.
Where does this false concept come from?
The answer to that question is obvious. We are constantly bombarded with the 'PED' concept, to the point where intelligent people just don't question it, they just blindly accept it.
This is bad for the sport and just hypes up the belief in doping.
Please, everyone, take a step back from this craziness and try to understand that World Records like Almaz Ayana's run last night will happen inevitably regardless of whatever drug is being hyped up as the latest so called PED. It's the laws of physics. You can't ignore it and hope to understand training concepts.
