I don't know. If you look at the progression, Mottram was better, but then the gap started to close and eventually Mo took the reins. I suppose we can all see what ever we want to with this analysis.

I am a bot. Info:
Ha funny, notice the Wanganui mile in 2006, it was essentially Willis and Mottram, a great race, saw it live at the time, never knew that Mo was in the race, but six seconds slower then Willis who is a few months younger than Mo. Willis, was a freak that has slowly improved every year, yet all of a sudden about 3 years ago Mo was magically quicker than one of the world's best milers.
Konchellah paced Seb Coe
Mo Farah in 2006 Commonwealth Games Final...

This settles it in my opinion. Ovett is the way better commentator. Sounds weird hearing him with an Australian accent but still miles better than boring Crammie for the BBC.
Cram never has posessed the blistering change of gear that Ovett always had. The job of the color commentator is to make it exciting for the listener. Sure Cram can grind it out from a long way from home but you want somebody who can show that burst of intensity coming down the back straight like Ovett does so effortlessly.
The BBC should have offered Ovett twice what they were paying Cram for 2012 London. Imagine if we had him and Foster commentating together for Rushida's WR?
I like Cram, but Ovett was a great runner and he is the best commentator. Is he commentating for anyone/country in Rio?
You lost all credibility with your last sentence!
Brendan Foster is far and away the worst commentator ever! I wish the BBC would retire him and put him out to pasture. He waffles incessant nonsense, allowing no one else to get a word in edgewise. I switch off the volume when his irritating voice comes on. I would actually like to see Mo lose a race, just to shut up Foster's hyperbolic smugness.

I've read many of your posts and respect your opinion but for me Brendan is a national treasure whether he waffles or not.
