I have a Garmin 405 that has served me just fine for many years. But the stupid charger has to be attached just right or the thing does not charge. Not only does it not charge but it drains the battery if it is not hooked up precisely with the two "teeth" connected at the exact angle. It is challenging to get it hooked up right and then it makes me furious to wake to find it dead.
So, I have no need for any new bells and whistles of the modern watches. Do I need to buy a new watch at $150-$300? Are the new watch charging mechanisms any better?
(BTW, I clean the connections with alcohol about once a week that offers some improvement but not much)
