So, I am going through a training plan to prepare myself for 1/2marathon @ Oct 8. This will be only my third 1/2marathon (the previous one was 1:57, which for me as 22yo female is nothing spectacular but not awful either), so, please, no bashing - I am far from experienced runner.
So, half marathon is 2.5 months away and I am slowly increasing my mileage and getting used to long runs (which I did not do previous time).
The initial plan for this week was:
Monday: 6k easy
Tuesday: 10k tempo
Wednesday: floorball (field hockey) game
Thursday: 6k easy
Friday: off
Saturday: 6k easy
Sunday: 14k long run
However, yesterday, I came home from work totally powerless. Furthermore, it turns out I will have to represent my company in 13k trail run on Saturday.
Monday: 6k easy
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: floorball (field hockey) game
Thursday: 10k tempo
Friday: off?
Saturday: 13k trail
Sunday: 6k easy
Question #1: would it be wise to add a really easy short run on Friday eve, given I can only do it in the evening, and the start of 13k on Saturday is @ noon?
Question #2: basically, if I stay @ current plan, I have taken out one 6k run and changed the 14k long run to 13k trail (which will most probably feel like 16k at least :D) - naturally there is still a long time to go till 1/2marathon, but in terms of workout quality, does this look equal to previous plan?
