I was sick of being consumed by it. The actual phone was made by samsung and worked well.

You could have just acted like an adult and turned it off.

It was taking calls as late as 4:30pm yesterday. I called it this morning though and it went straight to voicemail. The lake itself is 83 feet at its deepest point but I am guessing it's in about 10-15 feet of water.

It was okay. I still paid the bill and through the carrier was allowed to send texts through an online interface and my tablet. BUT... I detached from the phone and felt a difference when interacting with friends who had them. I was more personable and less tuned into a device obviously.

I definitely suggest doing something similar minus the getting smashed and throwing your phone in a lake part.

I don't have quite as interesting of a story but I haven't had a phone for more than 3 years now. I have an online Google Voice number I give for things that absolutely require a phone but otherwise most of my friends just know I don't have one. You get used to it.

Funny thing every time I try calling my wife and I know she's home and she don't answer I wanna throw it out the car window.

I've actually never had one -- neither does my wife.

It's never really been a problem not having one.
