I was pissed off when everyone just let rupp go.
It was sickening honestly.
Especially for True, he always overestimates his kick

Someone said the two army runners don't have the A standard, thus Jenkins might be on the team???
Is this a yes or no? I raced against Jenkins in NH, and i'd love to see him represent.
Last lap splits:
Lagat = 52.82
Mead = 53.18
Chelimo = 53.59
Jenkins = 53.41
True = 53.95
Hill = 55.49
Kipchirchir = 56.72
Kincaid = 56.40
Rupp = 60.92
Anyone notice Ben True's wife covering her face (and another guy comes next to her doing the same) and the fat guy in front of them is turned around looking at them just laughing/smiling?
What happened to Rupp? He didn't win?? The announcers still haven't said one word. I must have missed something. One second everyone is racing for 2nd place, the next thing I see is results with Rupp finishing way back. Did he fall back on purpose since he decided not to run the 5K in Rio??

Not a lot of COURAGE today

If you can't kick with Lagat you might not want to let it come down to a kick. Pathetic racing by US distance runners again.

Which African is the fastest American on the US Olympic team? Somalian Mead, or one of the Kenyans? Do we have any Ethiopians on the US team?
I didn't like Lagat's shadiness in '04, but he has probably lived in the US about as long as Jenkins has.

Honestly, I think Rupp was doing the company duty today.
Duty 1. Help Jenkins
Duty 2. Help any nike athlete
Mission accomplished except Jenkins didn't close the deal.
Do all 3 have the std by the way?
I thought he won too. So confused.
Hill has been hurt and Ben True is generally not that good in terms of international caliber runners. No surprise with those guys, you just WANTED them to make itwake up

Very entertaining race. Big shoutout goes to Shrader and Kincaid for trying to make something happen early in the race. Big shoutout to Rupp for giving it a go over the last 3-4 laps. And HUGE shoutout to Lagat, who is truly an ageless wonder at 41 years old. Incredible kick. Good finishes by Mead, Chelimo, and Jenkins. It sucks that one of them had to stay home.
As far as Hill and True are concerned, they raced pitifully. They are probably two of our three best 5K runners, but didn't do anything to keep the pace honest today. Tough beans.

Probably because he saw the camera men were eating that up on the big screen. laughter is the brain's way of saying, wtf is going on..
For those who couldn't watch, Rupp had a ~20m lead with 800 left. At the bell the chase pack of ~8 started going after him and caught him with 200 left. Mead and Chelimo were ahead at 150 with Lagat just behind. True and Jenkins were two steps behind them. Lagat kicked down Mead/Chelimo, Jenkins put his head down with 90 left and possibly had the fastest last 100, nearly catching Chelimo at the line (0.6 off). True just didn't have enough of a kick to catch up.
Rupp wasn't going to run the 5k anyway. I think he just messed up a lot of minds. Hilarious. I hate jogfests.

What about the other African male? does he have the US standard as well?
Gatlin is an embarassment.
