I tore my plantar fascia nearly 7 months ago. Originally, I took 4 weeks off running then started up again by running 1 mile, 2 miles, 4 miles every other day. The full pain of the injury came back. I then took a full 10 weeks off and then began running a few miles every other day for about 1 week. Pain and inflammation again returned, although this time to a lesser extent. I then took another 6 weeks off and then ran a few times before seeing the podiatrist. The ultrasound showed some inflammation, but otherwise my plantar fascia ligament looked good. After running every other day a few more times, pain and inflammation once again returned.
Has anyone else experienced this? Am I completely doomed? At this point, I don't even care about running competitively, I just want to be able to run a few days a week without my foot hurting.I will seek out PT and am getting custom orthotics, but I am getting frustrated and starting to lose hope that my foot will ever fully stop hurting.
