I am 47. I ran 4:05 1500 and 9:00 3k at age 16. I trained with a group until I was 25 and then just sort of jogged a lot.
In HS and University when I was racing I usually ran about 25 miles a week during XC and track season and took the summers off.
I now swim masters, and I cycle. I have been out of running for about 8 years.
I am starting to get back into running again and am shocked at how slow I am now. I doubt I could break 7:30 for the mile.
What are some 1500 times to reasonably shoot for within the next few years?
I would love to get back under 5mins for 1500 but I have no idea what is possible for someone that isn't a superstar and who isn't going to dedicate their lives to masters' running.
Guesses, advice, and flames welcome.
