More quality workouts, the long runs are longer which is always good, and the tempo is also gonna improve you more basically more quality,less quantity.
Ex. I had a middle school kid who I coached and his friend as well(It could be talent but I think most is training)(I was experimenting with them lol)
His friend did 2 miles everyday with a 100x6 sprint and sometimes repeats. Before training:6:07 After:5:27(Again this guy was more talented so its prob my training)

Before training 1600: 6:35 After:5:19(Only trained 5 months, hes going to high school this year wonder how good hell be) Anyways you get it more quality, less quantity
