In what felt like 100 degrees, Efraimson ran 2:07.4 for her last 800m to win her second US Junior Title. Aragon looked great as well, only fading in the last 150m. Those two girls are going to show well at Worlds! Go USA

She is a freshman in college! Special guy who can't discern a freshman girl from a 25 year old. Can you run 2:07 on the second half of a 1500m in 100 degrees?
Impressive for Aragon to hang with a 62 final lap. The three of them (including Kate Murphy) will be a real force at the Trials. I can easily see two of them (Alexa plus Christina or Kate) making the final.

Sub 63 penultimate lap & 65 high final lap. I am only pointing this out because I find 62+ with 2 laps to go more impressive than the final lap if the runner holds it together, and the top 2 did, 2:07 & 2:08. Impressive in any weather and particularly in what must've been upper 90's heat.
Dang I was pretty sure milesplit had tweeted 4:17&4:18 as their times
Add her time for the first 700.
6/10

Good running.
Sub 63 plus 65 high adds up to 2:08 something though.
Looks like 62-high and 65-low

The person in question was Aragon.
Splits are here:
Those were hot, brutal conditions. No one was PR'ing in those 1500s. Great finish for both races (men and women).

What does 62.1+65.7 add up to? Is that sub 63 and high 65? Is it 2:08 something? Math is fun....
Do some of you guys read what has been posted prior to responding?
The question was concerning 2nd place finisher Aragon.
Her final two splits were 62.88 which I called "sub 63," and 65.36. This adds to 2:08.24 which I called "2:08."
How much easier can it get? I guess math is fun you are challenged.
Why take something so innocuous as tenths of seconds and get pissy about it without reading for context,......especially when you are wrong.
To restate my opinion: I am impressed with the top two finishers. I am especially impressed with VERY strong penultimate laps without wilting in terrible heat for the final lap. VERY tough racing by these two.
Sorry to go off topic but is there a meet photo gallery anywhere and are any of the videos now available or are they still pay for play?
She is a professional runner, she has a contract, she gets paid to run. It's her job. Should not be in Jr. Nats ad a pro. IMHO

What about the event makes it not suitable for PRO's to compete? It's age based and that's all.
If your a Big dog you don't run with the puppies as the Maui and Sons T-shirt says.

There could be lots of reasons to opt for Junior Worlds over the Olympics this year.
Some of the things to consider:
1. Zika virus. Probably a decent consideration for a young woman.
2. Competition at World Juniors is closer to her PR than the Olympics.
3. Destination preference (beyond the Zika virus concerns).
She is 19 years old. She doesn't NEED to run in the Olympics this year, but this is her last chance to win a World Juniors title - and it won't be easy, going up against someone who has already run 4:00.xx and has run faster than her personal best on three separate occasions (highlighted by that 8+ second head-to-head loss at the Pre Classic last month). If you haven't been keeping track, Efraimson is 0-2 against Tsegay at the moment. There might be some unfinished business there.
Great HS 5:30 guy.
Call that 'good'.
Just like your 4x80 second 400's with two minutes rest...
Seriously...
