Hawaii leading the way in U.S. gun control measures

It's giving the NRA fits. A precedent for each state to establish control and monitoring over gun ownership.

Orlando shooter wasn't even on the no-fly list anymore.

Why not ban registered Democrats from buying a firearm? That would have prevented a LOT more shootings than the no-fly list and probably 90% of gun violence in general. It is also a voluntary list so it doesn't violate due process, and gun owning Republicans are less likely to object to the law.

This should really help in getting all those shootings in Chicago under control.

This will be interesting to watch.

Theoretically one could go to other states and buy a gun and bring it back. But being a chain of islands, this presents a few problems.

So I would imagine gun regulations in HI are more easily enforced.

So now we can see - if guns ownership is monitored and otherwise restricted, what happens to crime levels (holding all other variables constant).

Hawaii is a state where life is good and people don't feel like shooting each other all that much.

We don't need no freaking guns.

Hawaii already has the lowest gun death rate per capita than any other U.S. state.

Yes, having an ocean for a border certainly keeps that easy external supply of firearms at bay.
