I really like the Adios Boost, but curious to try the Takumi Sen. My focus is on half and full marathon.

Get both. You wil not be disappointed. Adios for a full marathon, Sen for a half... they weigh in at 6oz, so you may beat yourself up going 26.2.
I've ran a marathon in Takumi Sen. Also a big fan of Takumi Ren, which has slightly more boost material in the forefoot (half oz heavier). I use Adios as a training shoe, Boston Boost as well. Feel like the four models work for me pretty well.
My big criticism is that they don't offer Ren and Sen in neutral colors in the US. I have to order them from the UK. I live in the area of the country where people in pickup trucks throw stuff at you if you wear pink/yellow/aqua/orange shoes and Adidas seems think everyone in the US are a bunch of metrosexuals (that might be true). But still, I hate Adidas for this.
Go to Adidas.ca and you'll find grey/black Takumi Sen. Search for Takumi Sen in Google, and the new model in the US is bubble gum pink.
I injured my posterior tibialis with the Sen. Not for long distances. Maybe an occasional 5k.
I've worn both for multiple distances. I prefer the Takumi Sen for up to 10k and the Adios for anything over. The Takumis are nice and faster feeling but I prefer the comfort of the Adios for the later miles in extended race.

Sure, if you're not at race weight, Takumi Sen isn't a good marathon shoe. I haven't raced Tokyo, but I've heard anecdotally that it's a popular marathon choice (sub-elite minimum).
Perhaps your comment is a good illustration why Adidas doesn't market the shoe in the US compared to countries with a lower obesity rate.

what's race weight? I'm 5'11" 150 lbs. Is that race weight or do you need to be closer to what's listed for some elite marathoners, like 134lbs to use the Sen?

I don't know, you tell me. Race weight is a very personal definition based on how well you know your body. In my own case, I weigh the exact same weight as you except I'm three inches taller. So, I think you're fine, I hear lots of women are into the Dad Bod.
Jokes aside, if you're a forefoot striker, at a reasonable weight, know what good form feels like, and have had success with other Adidas shoes, then you definitely should try the Sen. I love the shoe. I wear it in the mile and the marathon.
I also ordered the Feather Boost from the UK (again, not sold in the US) and it's really well done. Lots of positive feedback on the shoe. I'm baffled why it's not offered in the US.
If there's an Adidas rep on this forum, I'd love the answer.
So, I just tried on Takumi Sen 3, and they're unbelievable! I have to definitely run more to see, but they might become my favorite shoes! I was concerned of them not having Boost in the heel, but I midfoot strike so I don't really need much cushioning for my heels. Cushioning in the forefoot is plenty, and I think it feels more cushioned in the forefoot than the Adios.
Adidas's shoes are by far the best in my opinion, and my four favorites from Adidas are Takumi Sen, Adios, Boston, and Ultra Boost. If you're getting Ultra Boost, I would get it half size down as the Primeknit on the upper needs to feel slightly snug to keep the shoes in place.
I added them to my price watch. I can't afford full price.
I tried the Piranha SP5 and at 4oz they are limited to 10k and below (for me). There's just not enough shoe.
Agree agree agree. Sen are very special. Adios great, Boston great, Ren very good. Have not tried Ultra B (too heavy) but Adizero Prime (previously Prime Boost) = Adios mid/out sole + primeknit upper are in the very special category i.e. think of Ultra upper and Adios sole, great combo.
I still think (hope) Adi may bring us something special just ahead of Rio, as they did with the Prime Olympics model a little before London '12. I have a pair of the Berlin Edition model (came out just after the London Olympics) and they are excellent. These were the first Adidas shoes with primeknit, see pic:

There's a big difference between the two in heel to toe drop. Be careful
I found the Takumi Sen a bit clunky for a race shoe. It's a bit deceptive in looking low to the ground but not feeling as close as it appears.
I liked the ride though.
Hey adidasnothappy when you order the adizero feather make sure you go 1/2 a size bigger than normal because they are kind of tight.
Do the Takumi Sen 3 run small? I have to buy the Boston Boost 1/2 size larger because it runs small. Is that also true for the Takumi Sen?

Yes, order 1/2 size up minimum. I didn't but wish I had.
Can anyone comment how the Takumi Sen 3 fits compared to the boston boost 5's?
Does the Takumi Sen 3 fit the same as the Takumi Sen 1? Wondering if I need to go up a half size in the 3.
I've found that both the Sen 3 and Ren 3 feel a bit wide in the front compared to the Adios Boost 2 or the Boston Boost 6, probably because they were designed for the Japanase market where Adidas only sells Wide (2E) versions of their shoes.
I don't find that ideal for a racing shoe. Oh and the small nubs on the sole (quickstrike ?) wear out super fast if you supinate.
Are either of these shoes any good for people who need a bit of stability? I train in the Sequence Boost and tend to race in Saucony Fastwitchs, but am keen to try an adidas racing shoe given I love the Sequences...
